Your Guide To Fun In The Minneapolis-Saint Paul Area

4 Spots in the Metro for Your Inner Kid

Can Can Wonderland

Located in what was once a canning factory, this one-price, all-you-can-play arcade is just that: a wonderland. The facility features games dating back to the 1900s, vintage pinball machines, and the most unique mini-golf you’ve ever played (looking at you giant pink elephant). You can easily fill hours here, playing games and partaking in their large selection of signature cocktails and craft beers. Plus, they are open until 1am Fridays and Saturdays (21+ after 9pm) and have special events like Alice in Wonderland or Open Mic Night.

Up-Down Minneapolis

With several locations across the Midwest, Up-Down is truly a unique experience. Their Minneapolis location has a rotation of 50-plus arcade games, skeeball lanes, and Nintendo 64 gaming. Looking for some refreshments? They’ve got you there too, with over 60 beers on tap and homemade pizza with unique toppings, sold by the slice. Make sure you check their website before you go to see what their daily specials are: like discounts on craft beer or free tokens for the first 100 people.

Punch Bowl Social

With rave reviews from the likes of The Washington Post and others, Punch Bowl Social is a hub for all things food, drink, and fun. Try your luck at their giant takes on classic games like Scrabble or sing your heart out in their karaoke rooms. No need to look elsewhere for food either as they have a full, made-from-scratch menu along with their comprehensive drink menu. Head to their website to take a tour of the 25,000 sq ft space which also features bowling, table games, and arcade games.

The Nook

This St. Paul institution has your classic bar accoutrements like burgers, wings, and drinks. However, the basement of this establishment holds a true hidden gem of the metro. Downstairs, not only is there a second bar, this one covered wall to wall in dollar bills, but also a classic-style bowling alley. Bowling is open until 1am, 7 days a week. Just make sure you’re ready to do some quick math since you keep your own score here.
